earn 2% back in extrabucks rewards on qualifying purchases

earning 2% extrabucks rewards

for any qualifying transaction of 50¢ or more, you'll earn 2% back in extrabucks rewards.

after an in-store purchase using your extracare card or phone number, your rewards usually appear within moments in the cvs app, on cvs.com.

for purchases made on cvs.com, you'll receive your rewards once your order ships or is picked up.

2% is calculated on purchase price, minus coupons, discounts and third-party fees (if applicable), and before tax.

in our experience, 2% ExtraBucks Rewards are also based on the amount paid after ExtraBucks Rewards are applied. for example, if you pay almost entirely with ExtraBucks, you'll usually earn only a few cents in new 2% rewards.

there is a limit of $5 ExtraBucks Rewards earned (meaning they are earned on up to $250 in qualifying purchases) for any single transaction, with a maximum of five qualifying transactions and $25 ExtraBucks Rewards per day per card. there may be additional limits imposed if cvs suspects fraud. (see extracare account suspensions)

2% ExtraBucks Rewards exclude alcohol, bag fees, bottle deposits, bus and transit passes, copays, certain CVS Optical purchases, CVS Photo, CVS promotional items, donations, ephedrine/pseudoephedrine products, ExtraCare Plus membership fees, faxes, gift cards, hunting and fishing licenses, lottery tickets, magazines, milk (where required by law or regulation), money orders, newspapers, packaging services, photo copies, postage stamps, prepaid cards, prepaid phones and accessories, prescriptions, purchases fulfilled by DoorDash or other third parties, Rug Doc rentals, and any imposed governmental fees or items reimbursed by a government-funded health plan.

redeeming 2% extrabucks rewards

to access your rewards through the cvs app and on cvs.com, sign in and go to "Deals & Rewards." send them to your card and you'll be able to apply them to your next in-store or cvs.com purchase. or if your account is set to receive paper receipts, just use your paper 2% rewards coupon(s).

these rewards expire 90 days from the end of each calendar quarter following their date of issue (march 31, june 30, september 30, or december 31).

you can redeem each of your 2% back in ExtraBucks Rewards coupons individually, a few at a time or all at once.

unused rewards over $1 that were never sent to the card are reissued on the quarterly print receipt.

if your extracare card isn't linked to the cvs app or cvs.com, you'll receive a quarterly printout of your accumulated rewards balance. because rewards are earned at 2%, you'll need at least $50 in qualifying purchases during the quarter to earn the minimum $1 reward that is issued.

rewards coupons can't be redeemed on delivery marketplaces like Instacart and Shipt.
