it looks like cvs may be getting ready to introduce a new type of extracare promotion: punch card offers: cvs added an entirely new section for "extracare punch card offers" when it updated its extracare terms & conditions on august 24, 2026. |
i haven't seen one of these offers in my account yet, and i haven't heard reports of anyone receiving one, so it's possible they haven't launched yet or are only being tested with a small number of extracare members.
what we know so far
according to cvs, punch card offers will be available only to select extracare members and may vary by member and location. some may need to be activated before you start earning punches, while others may activate automatically after a qualifying purchase.
cvs describes different types of punch card offers, including offers that give you a punch for purchasing a qualifying item and offers that require qualifying shopping "trips."
depending on the offer, completing a punch card could earn extrabucks rewards, a free-item offer, or another reward.
generally, qualifying purchase requirements are calculated after promotions and discounts but before coupons are applied
cvs also says:
• activated punch cards and punches generally expire after 90 days unless otherwise stated.
• rewards earned for completing a punch card generally expire 30 days after they are issued.
• members may earn up to 6 punches per day and 9 punches during a rolling 7-day period.
• qualifying pickup and delivery orders can count, subject to the terms of the particular offer.
• punches or rewards may be reversed if a qualifying purchase is returned or canceled.
